Julie Nguyen graduated with a Bachelor of Professional Communication from RMIT University Melbourne in December 2024. She is currently pursuing a Master of Teaching – Early Childhood Education at Victoria University, supported by a 20% scholarship.
During her undergraduate studies, Julie interned at SW Education (Season 17) as Creative content creator, and collaborated on various media projects with international students in Melbourne. These experiences helped her build strong skills in creativity, teamwork, and cross-cultural communication.
Although she is still in the early stages of her teaching career, Julie has completed 30 days of placement at early learning centres, where she received positive feedback and an offer to continue working after her practicum. She has also achieved First Class Honours in multiple coursework units, demonstrating her dedication and academic excellence.
While her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are in different fields, Julie sees this as an advantage rather than a limitation. In a multicultural country like Australia, her background in communication complements her path in early childhood education by deepening her understanding of people and culture. For Julie, pursuing a teaching degree not only offers meaningful personal and professional growth but also aligns with her long-term goal of gaining permanent residency in Australia — a shared aspiration among many international students.
At the same time, she continues to nurture her passion for media and sees her foundation in education as a valuable asset that will enhance her future career in the communication industry.
